World number one Iga Natalia Świątek advanced to the round of 16 at the Australian Open. The Polish player defeated Spain's Cristina Bucșa 6-0, 6-1 in the third round. The match lasted 54 minutes.

She will play in the 1/8 finals against Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.

The Australian Open finishes on January 28. The tournament prize fund is $51 million.
