World Championship: Ter-Sahakyan loses to Carlsen

Armenia's Samvel Ter-Sahakyan faced Magnus Carlsen in the first round of the World Rapid Chess Championship, which started in Almaty. The Norwegian Grandmaster won on the 42nd move with black pieces.

Hayk Martirosyan, Shant Sargsyan and Manuel Petrosyan won, Gabriel Sargsyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Zaven Andriasyan, Tigran Petrosyan and Mamikon Gharibyan finished their games with draws, while Tigran Harutyunyan lost.

The prize fund of the world championship is 350 thousand dollars.
