14 Armenia chess players starting their campaign in world championship

Fourteen delegates from Armenia will participate in the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship getting underway in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

World No. 1 and reigning World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway) is the ranking leader (2834).

Five rounds—out of 13—will be played Monday.

And after the Rapid Chess Championship, the World Blitz Championship will be held.
