World Weightlifting Championships: Armenia's Andranik Karapetyan finishes 12th

The representatives of the Armenian national team started their campaign on the sixth day of competition at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia.

Andranik Karapetyan and Vardan Manukyan competed in the 89kg weight category.

Karapetyan participated in the A Group of 89kg, whereas Manukyan—in the B Group. 

Andranik Karapetyan finished twelfth by a lifting a combined weight of 352 kilograms. He lifted 166 kilograms in the Snatch, and 186 kilograms in the Clean and Jerk.

Vardan Manukyan lifted 155 kilograms in the Snatch 190 kilograms in Clean and Jerk. He finished sixteenth, with a combined weight of 345 kilograms.

Keydomar Vallenilla (Venezuela) became the world champion in this weight category, with a total result of 385 kilograms (175kg Snatch+210kg Clean & Jerk).
