Messi equals Batistuta as Argentina top scorer in World Cups

Current Copa America champions Argentina are playing against Netherlands and winning 2-0 in the quarterfinals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Lionel Messi scored the second goal of the Argentines from the penalty spot. He is making his 24th appearance in World Cups.

The 35-year-old star forward has now equaled, with 10 goals, Argentine football legend Gabriel Batistuta’s record for the top scorer of Argentina in the World Cups.
