The Brazilian national team have set records for the number of matches and the number of goals at the world championships. The Brazilians beat Germany, which failed to overcome the group stage. 

Brazil in the World Cup held 113 matches, Germany - 112. Brazil scored 236 goals at the tournament, while Germany scored 232.

Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1 in the 1/8 finals and will play vice-champion Croatia in the quarterfinals.
