World Cup: Argentina win thanks to goals from Messi, Fernandez

Argentina faced Mexico in the second round of the group stage at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and won 2-0.

In the 64th minute, PSG star forward Lionel Messi scored a superb goal, thus netting his eighth goal for Argentina in World Cups and equaling Argentine football legend, the late Diego Maradona.

And in the 87th minute, Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez, 21, scored Argentina’s second and his first goal for the national team.

As a result, Argentina rose to second place, with 3 points, in Group C, and are 1 point behind current leaders Poland, whom they will compete against in their last round on November 30.
