Mbappe equals Zidane and Platini in number of goals at World Cup

French and Paris PSG world champion Kylian Mbappe, 23, has equaled former French players Zinedine Zidane and Michel Platini in the number of World Cup goals.

Mbappe's goal against Australia (4-1) in the first round of the World Cup group stage match was the 5th goal for Mbappe at the World Cup.

Mbappe became the fourth player in World Cup history to score in two different World Cups under the age of 24. Before Mbappe, only England's Michael Owen, Brazil's Pele and Tostão had achieved such a result.
