Luis Enrique: It would be very unfair for Messi to retire without winning World Cup

Spanish head coach Luis Enrique said he would be happy if Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar.

"If Spain doesn't win the World Cup, I would like Argentina to win it because of Messi. A player of his stature deserves to win a World Cup. It would be very unfair for him to retire without doing so.

Luis Enrique, who coached Messi at Barcelona, also remembered another of his former alumni at Camp Nou, Luis Suarez.

Messi had earlier announced that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar would be his last in his career.
