Carlo Ancelotti, the 63-year-old Italian manager of reigning Spanish La Liga champions and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid, has broken the record for the most number of wins in the Champions League as a manager, the club's press service reports.

Real’s 5-1 win against Celtic in the last round of the Champions League group stage Wednesday was Ancelotti's 103rd win in this top European football competition.

Ancelotti has surpassed the respective record of Manchester United’s legendary head coach, Scotsman Alex Ferguson (102 wins), which he had set in November 2012.

Real Madrid have reached the Round of 16 in the Champions League.
