European Championship: Armenia surpasses Turkey in gold medals
11:48 26 October, 2022The European Under-20 and Under-23 Weightlifting Championships ended in Albania. Armenia won 7 gold medals and took the first place. Turkey came second with 6 gold medals.
Gold medalists were Gor Sahakyan (67 kg, under 20), Milena Khachatryan (76 kg, under 20), Liana Gyurjyan (81 kg, under 20), Suren Grigoryan (89 kg, under 20), Garik Karapetyan (96 kg, under 20), Ara Aghanyan (96 kg, under 23) and super heavyweight Varazdat Lalayan (under 23).
Emma Poghosyan (81 kg), Petros Petrosyan (102 kg, under 20), Julieta Avanesyan (+87 kg, under 20) and Yasha Minasyan (109 kg, under 23) won silver medals.
Rafik Minasyan (61 kg, under 20), Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (81 kg, under 20), Meri Tumasyan (87 kg, under 20) and Luiza Sahradyan (87 kg, under 23) won bronze medals.
