Lionel Messi sets unique achievement

French champions PSG have set a new Champions League record for Argentina forward Lionel Messi. He scored a double and two assists in the penultimate leg of the Champions League group stage match against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa (7-2).

Messi became the oldest player in the history of the Champions League (35 years and 123 days) to score two goals and give two assists, writes Opta.

The Argentine played 16 matches for PSG in all competitions this season, scoring 11 goals and giving 12 assists. His contract is to expire this season.
