World Youth Sambo Championship opens in Yerevan
19:59 14 October, 2022The opening ceremony of the World Sambo Championship among teenagers, youth and young adults was held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex.
The championship will be held from October 14 to 16 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. About 500 athletes from more than 20 countries will participate in the championship: Armenia, USA, Bulgaria, Germany, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Cyprus, Korea, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Romania, Serbia, Georgia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Russian, Belarusian and French athletes will perform under the flag of neutral athletes /FIAS/. 55 sets of medals will be drawn at the championship. For the first time in the framework of the World Sambo Championship there will be also competitions of combat sambo for children.
