Rafael Chmshkyan, Olympic champion and world record holder, dies

The legendary weightlifter Rafael Chmshkyan died at the age of 93 in Georgia, the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia reports. 

Rafael Chmshkyan was 1952 Helsinki Olympics champion (60 kg), fivefold USSR champion, twofold world champion, sixfold European champion and 11-time world record holder.

Rafael Chmshkyan was born in Tbilisi and is the first Olympic champion of Georgia.
