Champions Showdown: Caruana wins, Aronian finishes 6th

Fabiano Caruana (USA) has won the Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX (Fischer random chess) tournament held in St. Louis, USA.

Caruana defeated Alireza Firouzja (France) in the Armageddon match of the tiebreak.

After the nine rounds of this competition, both chess grandmasters had tallied 6.5 points each.

Levon Aronian, the former leader of the Armenian men’s national chess team who now represents the USA, finished sixth, with 4 points.
