US OpenÖ‰ Nadal and Alcaraz reach third round
10:18 2 September, 2022Third-ranked Rafael Nadal advanced to the third round of the U.S. Open by beating Fabio Fognini of Italy (60th) 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1. The tennis players spent two hours and 38 minutes on the court.
In the third round, Nadal's opponent will be 36-year-old Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
Fourth-ranked Carlos Alcaraz beat Federico Coria of Argentina 6-2, 6-1, 7-5 in the second round to advance to the third round. The match lasted two hours and 10 minutes. In the next match the Spaniard will play American Jenson Brooksby.
The prize fund of the US Open is $ 60 million.
