Former leader of the Armenian team Levon Aronian (USA) gained victories over Americans Jeffrey Sun, Sam Shankland, andLeinier Domínguez, Azerbaijan's Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Russia's Yan Nepomniachtchi, played a draw with Alireza Firouzja (France), and lost to Americans Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana and French Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in nine rounds.
Aronian is in sixth place with 13.5 points. Firouzja is leading with 18 points.
