US Open: World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev advances to 2nd round

World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev started his US Open campaign with a confident win.

In the first round, the Russian tennis star, who is defending his US Open title won last year, beat Stefan Kozlov (USA), ranked 111th in the world, in three sets—6:2, 6:4, 6:0. The match lasted 2 hours and 1 minute.

In the second round, Medvedev's opponent will be the world's 58th ranked Arthur Rinderknech (France).

The US Open prize fund is $60.1 million.
