Champions League: Benfica, Viktoria Plzen, Maccabi Haifa advance to group stage
00:53 24 August, 2022Benfica have made it to the UEFA Champions League group stage. The Lisbon team hosted Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of the qualifying playoffs and won 3-0. In the first leg, Benfica had won 2-0. Dynamo will now continue their campaign in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Viktoria Plzen, which defeated Qarabag (Azerbaijan) 2-1 in their second leg of the playoffs, also reached the group stage of the Champions League. The first leg had ended in a goalless draw.
Maccabi Haifa, which eliminated Crvena zvezda, will also play in the group stage of the Champions League. In the second leg of the playoffs, Maccabi played a 2-2 draw in Belgrade. In the first leg, the Israeli team had won 3-2.
