Wolverhampton have made a record transfer in the history of the club. The English club paid €45m for Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes.
The 23-year-old Portuguese footballer signed a 5-year contract with an option to extend for another year.
English champion Manchester City and vice-champion Liverpool were also interested in the services of Nunes.
The midfielder played 33 matches in the last Portuguese championship, scoring three goals and two assists.
