The publication France Football published the contenders for the award for the best young footballer (under 21 years) of the year.

The final list includes: Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Gavi (Barcelona), Ryan Gravenberch (Bayern), Nuno Mendes (PSG), Jamal Musiala (Bayern), Josko Gvardiol (Leipzig), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Florian Wirtz (Bayer).
