FIFA World Cup to start on November 20

The 2022 World Cup will kick off in Qatar on November 20, the FIFA website reports.

On that day, the opening ceremony and the first match—between the host nation Qatar and Ecuador—will take place.

It was originally planned to start this top international football competition on November 21; but at the request of its organizers, it was decided to start the tournament one day earlier.

And the final of the 2022 World Cup will be played on December 18.
