Montreal Masters: Karen Khachanov wins first match

World number 28-ranked Karen Khachanov (Russia) won his first match at the Montreal Masters in Canada.

The Muscovite Armenian tennis player defeated world number 27-ranked Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina) in three sets—7:6 (7:4), 5:7, 6:2—in the Round of 64 of this tournament. The match lasted 2 hours and 46 minutes.

Khachanov's next opponent will be the winner of the clash between fellow Croats Marin Cilic and Borna Coric.

The prize fund of the Montreal Masters is 5.9 million dollars.
