Serena Williams wins her first singles match in 14 months

Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam winner, won her first match in the Canadian Open in Toronto.

The 40-year-old American tennis star beat Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (Spain) 6:3, 6:4 in the Round of 64. The match lasted 2 hours and 1 minute.

The former world number one won her first singles match since June 2021.

The prize fund of the Canadian Open is 2.5 million dollars.
