Washington: Karen Khachanov starts with victory

Russian Karen Khachanov started with a victory at the ATP-500 tournament in Washington. In the second round, Khachanov beat German Dominik Koepfer 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 6-4. The two players appeared on the court for two hours and 46 minutes.

Khachanov will play to advance to the quarterfinals with the winner of the match between Alex de Minaur (Australia) and Yoshihito Nishioka (Japan).

The prize fund of the tournament in Washington is $1.9 million.
