Allyson Felix announces retirement from professional sports

American track and field athlete, 7-time Olympic and 13-time world champion Allyson Felix, 36, announced her retirement from professional sports, reports WorldAthletics.

Felix on Friday competed in the final of the Mixed 4x400m Relay as part of Team USA at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA and became a bronze medalist. This was her 19th medal at the World Athletics Championships.

She has won 11 medals at the Olympic Games and is the most decorated female athlete in World Athletics Championships history.

Allyson Felix competed in 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 4×100 meters relay, and 4×400 meters relay.
