Champions League qualifiers: Pyunik Yerevan advance to next round

Reigning Armenian Premier League champions Pyunik Yerevan were hosted by Romania's champions CFR Cluj in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, and won on penalty kicks.

The regular time of this match ended in a 1-1 tie, the extra time—in a 2-2 tie, and the champions of Armenia won 4-3 on penalties.

In the first leg, the two clubs had played a goalless draw in Yerevan.

Pyunik will face Luxembourg’s champions Diddeleng in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The first leg will take place on July 19 in Yerevan.
