Candidates Tournament։ Caruana and Nepomniachtchi play to a draw

Leading player Ian Nepomniachtchi and second-placed Fabiano Caruana faced off in the ninth round of the Candidates Tournament in Madrid.

The grandmasters played to a draw. The game ended on the 40th move.

Russia's Nepomniachtchi was in the lead with 6.5 points. Caruana scored 5.5 points.
