Higuain names his 2022 Ballon d'Or choice
15:32 25 June, 2022Former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain from Argentina, who now plays for Inter Miami, considers Real and reigning World Cup champions France’s 34-year-old forward Karim Benzema the top contender for the 2022 Ballon d'Or.
"I have known Benzema since I was 19 years old. In Real we were competing for a spot in the team, but we always had good relations. I'm not surprised that he is the best striker in the world now. He deserves the Ballon d'Or and is the favorite this year," Higuain said, La Nacion reported.
Higuain played for Real Madrid from 2007-2013. Benzema has been a Real player since 2009.
