Garnik Cholakyan becomes gold medalist of World Youth Championship

Garnik Cholakyan has become a gold medalist of the World Youth Weightlifting Championship taking place in Greece.

Cholakyan (55 kg) lifted 240 kg (108+132) in biathlon. He ranked ahead of Mexico's Jose Manuel (234 kg) and Turkey's Mustafa Erdogan (228 kg).

Armenia will also be represented by Andranik Papeyan (61kg), Gor Sahakyan (67kg), Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (81kg), Suren Grigoryan, Gevorg Khagramanyan (both 89kg), Garik Karapetyan (96kg), Petros Petrosyan (102kg) and Milena Khachatryan (76kg).
