Champions League: Atletico eliminate Man United, Benfica do away with Ajax

Reigning Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and Portugal’s Benfica have reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

In the second leg of the Round of 16, Atletico were hosted by England’s Manchester United, and they beat their hosts 1-0. Their first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the other Round of 16 return leg of the day, Ajax of the Netherland’s hosted Benfica, and but they lost 1-0. In their first leg, the two clubs had played a 2-2 draw.
