Following the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, the Bureau of the United World Wrestling (UWW) has banned Russian and Belarusian wrestlers from international competitions due to the Russian Armed Forces’ military operations in Ukraine.

Also, both countries have been deprived of the right to host international wrestling competitions, according to the UWW website.

Earlier, the Russian national youth wrestling team had refused to participate in the European U23 Wrestling Championship, which will be held from March 7 to 13 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
