International Judo Federation suspends Putin’s status as its Honorary President and Ambassador

The International Judo Federation (IJF) has suspended Russian President Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the Federation.

“In light of the ongoing war conflict in Ukraine, the International Judo Federation announces the suspension of Mr. Vladimir Putin’s status as Honorary President and Ambassador of the International Judo Federation,” reads the respective announcement posted on the official website of the IJF.

Also, the International Judo Federation canceled the Kazan Grand Slam 2022 tournament, from  May 20 to 22 May, in Kazan, Russia.
