Beijing 2022: Mikayel Mikayelyan is 61st

Mikayel Mikayelyan, Armenia's representative at the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing, competed in the 15-kilometer class cross-country skiing race and placed 61st (43:09.1).

The competition was attended by 99 skiers from 50 countries.

The result of Finland's Iivo Niskanen, who claimed the champion title, was 37:54.8.

It was the second and last start of Mikael Mikaelyan in Beijing 2022. On Sunday, the 23-year-old skier also competed in the 15km classic + 15km freestyle skiathlon, finishing 47th.

Mikayel Mikayelyan was born in 1999 in Ashotsk in a family of skiers. His personal trainers are his father and mother, Artur and Alla Mikaelian. He has been skiing since childhood.

Multiple champion of Armenia, winner and medalist of international tournaments, at the world championships of up to 23 years in 2021 against 71 competitors from 30 countries with a score of 36:17,10 took 8th place. This is the best result in Armenian cross-country skiing.
