Australian government to revoke Djokovic's entry visa

19:44   13 January, 2022

The Australian government will once again cancel the entry visa of Novak Djokovic. Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke will announce the decision on January 14, The Age reported.

After the expulsion decision, Djokovic's lawyers will immediately apply to the court and will appeal the decision again.

The Serbian tennis player has arrived in Melbourne to participate in the Australian Open. The unvaccinated Serbian tennis star says he was granted a medical exemption to enter Australia after testing positive for COVID in mid-December.

However, Djokovic was detained and his visa cancelled on the basis that a recent COVID infection by itself was not sufficient for an exemption from Australia’s strict vaccination requirements.

The Australian Open will launch on January 17.
