Russian Armenian professional boxer Arest Saakyan dies after head injury in December 26 tournament

Russian Armenian professional boxer Arest Saakyan has died in Tolyatti, Russia.

He had sustained a severe head injury at the "Kings of Knockouts" tournament, which took place on December 26 in Tolyatti.

After the brain injury, Saakyan was in a stage-3 coma.

The athlete's death was reported on Instagram by his sister.

The last farewell ceremony for and the wake of Arest Saakyan will be held in Tolyatti, and he will be laid to rest in Yerevan.
