FIDE World Blitz Championship: Aronian is sole leader

Levon Aronian, the former leader of the Armenian men’s national team and now representing the United States, is the sole leader after the first day of competition at the FIDE World Blitz Championship in Warsaw, Poland.

After the 12 games played on Wednesday, the Armenian grandmaster has garnered 10 points (9 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat).

Haik M. Martirosyan has the best result, with 8.5 points, from the representatives of Armenia.

The last nine matches in this competition will be played Thursday.
