Former leader of the Armenian men’s national chess team, GM Levon Aronian made a social media post on the birthday of his late wife, Arianne Caoili.

“Dear Ari, 7 years ago, I made this video as a present for you. It’s a recollection of some of holidays we had together. We always spent your birthday together with or without friends, but always together. You loved this time of the year and planning it made me so happy! We always did something exciting, visited a new country or spent it in a special way. These are experiences that I will always cherish. Me, our families, Ponchik and Pacquiao , your friends and everybody who loved you, never got tired of you and never will. We love and miss you! Happy birthday!” Aronian wrote on Facebook and posted a respective video.

Arianne Caoili had had a car accident on March 14, 2020 in Yerevan. She underwent several surgeries after that, but on March 30, Arianne’ heart stopped. She was 33 years old. The Australian chess player of Filipino origin held the FIDE title of Woman International Master. On November 21, 2017, then Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan of Armenia had appointed her an advisor on a voluntary basis. Levon Aronian and Arianne Caoili were married in 2017.
