2022 World Cup qualifiers: Brazil qualify for final tournament

The 13th round kicked off Thursday in the South American qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The leaders of this group, Brazil, hosted Colombia and won 1-0.

Brazil lead the current South American standings, with 34 points, and are 9 points ahead of Argentina, which have played one match less and are second—and which will be hosted by Uruguay in this round.

After 11 victories and one draw, Brazil are the first from South America to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The other match results of the day are as follows:

Peru – Bolivia: 3-0

Paraguay – Chile: 0-1

Ecuador – Venezuela: 1-0
