10:47   9 November, 2021

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion Conor McGregor (Ireland) has announced on social media that he will fight Michael Chandler (USA).

Chandler has posted a photo collage of a staredown with McGregor on Twitter—and writing "2022." And McGregor responded positively.

McGregor, 33, earlier reported that he had recovered from the injury and was returning to the sport.

Conor McGregor had lost to lightweight Dustin Poirier (USA) in the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas on July 11, fracturing his left foot towards the end of the first round. It was their third fight. McGregor has defeated Poirier once.
