2022 World Cup qualifiers: Armenia lose to Romania, Germany book their spot in finals

Armenia were hosted, in capital Bucharest, to Romania and lost 0-1 in the eighth round of the group stage of the European qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar.

Armenia is now fourth, with 12 points, in the current Group J standings, and North Macedonia have the same amount of points, but are third now. Romania rose to second place, with 13 points.

The current leaders in Group J, Germany, defeated North Macedonia 4-0 on the road, amassed 21 points, and book their spot to the 2022 World Cup final tournament two rounds before the end of the qualifying round.
