World champion Malkhas Amoyan awarded in Oslo (PHOTOS)

Armenia’s 22-year-old Greco-Roman wrestler (72 kg) was declared champion and received the gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Oslo.

The Armenian national anthem was played and the Armenian national flag was raised in honor of the gold medalist.

The medalists were awarded by representative of the International Wrestling Federation, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mihail Mamiashvili.

After granting the gold medal, Mihail Mamiashvili personally tied the world champion belt around Amoyan’s waist and congratulated the new champion once again. Sergey Kutuzov (Russia) scored the silver medal in this category, while Gevorg Sahakyan (Poland) and Kristupas Shleyvan (Lithuania) took home the bronze medals.

The Armenian duduk was heard at the sport chamber in Oslo at the end of the award ceremony.
