Ronaldo surpasses Casillas' record

Manchester United's Portuguese star forward Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas’ record for the most appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

In the second round of the group stage in this European football competition, Ronaldo is playing as one of Man United’s starters in their match against Villarreal.

This is the 36-year-old player’s 178th appearance in the Champions League.
