Pochettino on Messi's substitution
17:30 20 September, 2021PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino touched upon Lionel Messi’s substitution during the main match against Lyon in the sixth round of the French championship. When the score was 1-1, in the 76th minute, Pochettino sent Moroccan center-back Ashraf Hakimi to the field instead of the team’s newcomer. After the substitution, Messi, 34, refused to shake the Argentine football manager’s hand.
Pochettino told RMC there are 35 players on the team and managers make the decisions, whether they are right or wrong. He added that some people might like the decision, while others might not like the decision. Pochettino said he had asked Messi how he was feeling, to which Messi said he was feeling fine and had no problem.
After the substitution of Lionel Messi, PSG had scored the winning goal in extra time.
