Armenia's Lyova Gevorgyan becomes vice-champion at Freestyle Junior World Championships

Armenia’s representative Lyova Gevorgyan became vice-champion of the Freestyle Junior World Championships in Ufa.

During the final for the 125 kg category, the Armenian wrestler was defeated 4-4 by Iranian Ali Mohamadebrahim Akbarppurkhorduni and scored the silver medal.

Yesterday Gevorgyan began the competition in the qualifying round and defeated his Hungarian (10-0), Indian (4-0) and Azerbaijani (10-0) rivals on the way to the final.

Out of Armenia’s other representatives, Manvel Khndzrtsyan (57 kg) scored the bronze, while Levik Mikayelyan (61 kg) was defeated during the battle for the bronze.
