Lionel Messi, who quit FC Barcelona as a free agent, has reached an agreement with PSG, L’Equipe reports.

The Argentine forward’s plane will arrive in Paris in the next couple of hours. The captain of the Argentina national team will undergo a medical checkup at PSG, after which he will sign a two-year contract, with an opportunity to extend the contract for another two years. The Paris football club will pay the 34-year-old footballer EUR 35,000,000 a year, without bonuses.

Messi had been playing for FC Barcelona’s main team since 2005. He played 778 matches, scored 673 goals and made 305 passes for goals, as well as scored 35 titles. Due to the fair rules of finance of La Liga, the Catalonian football club failed to sign a new contract with the Argentine footballer, even though both sides had reached an agreement.

Messi is a four-time winner of the Champions League, a ten-time champion of Spain, a seven-time cup winner, an eight-time super cup winner, a multiple European Super Cup winner, a three-time world football club champion, an Olympic champion, winner of the Copa America, world’s vice-champion and six-time laureate of the Golden Ball.
