Tokyo 2020: Karapet Chalyan defeats Chekhirkin and reaches semifinals

Vice-champion of the European Games Karapet Chalyan reached the semifinals of the Olympic tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 77 kg.

In the quarterfinals, the representative of Armenia faced the world champion of 2018, the winner of the European Games, 35-year-old Russian Alexander Chekhirkin and won 2-1.

Chalyan's rival in the semifinals will be Akzhol Makhmudov from Kyrgyzstan.
