Euro 2020 final's referee is ending his career

Dutch football referee Bjorn Kuipers will end his career on August 7, the day he will referee the Dutch Super Cup’s match between PSV Eindhoven and Ajax.

Kuipers, 48, said he believes there won’t be a more appropriate time for him to end his career.

Kuipers started pursuing his career as a football referee in 2002. He has served as referee during 2 world championships in 2014 and 2018 and 3 European championships in 2012, 2016 and 2020. The Dutch football referee has also refereed the UEFA Super Cup match (2011), the Europa League’s finals (2013 and 2018), the final of the Champions League (2014) and the final of Euro 2020.
