Tokyo 2020: Armenia’s Davtyan does not qualify for Pommel Horse final

Artur Davtyan (Armenia) on Saturday failed to qualify for the Pommel Horse finals in men's gymnastics competition at the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The current European champion in this event placed ninth in the qualification round, whereas the gymnasts who place first to eight go to the final.

Davtyan, however, scored the highest point of his career—14,566—in the Pommel Horse competitions.

On Saturday Artur Davtyan participated also in the men's Vault qualification round where he is currently in first place, with 14,866 points. The final of this competition will take place on August 3.

The final results of the Tokyo 2020 men's gymnastics qualifiers will be announced at the end of the competition day—after the third round.

Armenia has 17 athletes competing in eight sports at these Summer Olympics.
