Tokyo 2020: Armenia’s Artur Davtyan holds last training before starting campaign (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Artur Davtyan, the only representative of Armenia in gymnastics at the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo, on Friday held his last training session before the competition day.

The European and European Games champion provided an excerpt from this training to the Olympic VLOG program of NEWS.am Sport.

Davtyan will start his campaign in Tokyo on Saturday, and he will compete in the qualifying round of the Vault and the Pommel Horse events.

He was born on August 8, 1992 in Yerevan.

Davtyan is the 2010 European junior champion, the 2012 world gymnastics cup silver medalist, the 2013 European championship bronze medalist, the 2013 world gymnastics cup bronze medalist, the 2016 European silver medalist, the 2019 European Games champion, and the 2021 European champion.

He competed in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics.

He qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the world gymnastics championship held on October 8, 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany.
